This article describes how your life is what you make of it. If you are willing to work hard to reach your ambitions and goals, there is no reason why you should not achieve them. In my opinion far too many people try to take short cuts or are too willing to expect free hand outs from other people or have the credit card attitude of buy now, pay later. I hope you enjoy the read. Whenever I want to achieve something in life, I am aware that I have to work very hard and am very grateful to the lesson my parents taught me, even though at the time it seemed harsh and cruel.

We’ve all experienced the same thing at important crossroads in our life when big changes were underway. Often, we find ourselves feeling panic and frozen in time, possibly with indecision, waiting and wondering: Which way to go? How will things turn out? Sometimes, you just don’t know what to do. In fact, I find my life in this state of flux often as more changes loom on the horizon. Everyone, myself included, wants answers. What should I do? How do I know? These answers are never forthcoming; we cannot see into the future. Every direction can be okay but one can be the best. The simple truth is, we just don’t know with 100% accuracy. This is where awareness and faith come in to play.

Your data comes from many sources and most of us are familiar with these sources. I might surprise some of you with new concepts. The common source that we’re all familiar with is the mind and store-house of knowledge and experience we have gained from life. Again, those who rely solely upon this source risk repeating the same mistakes over and over again. The mystery of life dictates that our ability to identify with life experience as truth results in creating more of this truth in our lives. If this truth is a truth of painful experience, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Utilizing other sources, we are able to objectively assess all sources and come to new conclusions.

The next common source is our Emotions and Intuition; they often are synonymous. A surprising fact here is that not everyone is in touch with their emotions or permit the emotions the freedom they deserve. Emotions are very useful in interpreting or being aware of underlying factors that may not be evident through hard tangible data. For some this is a gut-feeling, others have a flash of insight or conclusion, and others feel twinges in certain parts of the body without being aware of any potential significance. I have scenarios for each and will refrain from elaborating further for the sake of brevity today. Be curious to explore it further though.

A less common source for most is our Spiritual Awareness. This is a quiet place within which there is a higher level of wisdom for the greater good. This can be pertinent to you, your life, your family life, community, work, the world and so on. The levels of knowledge accessible here are limitless. It is as though we are connected to a universal storehouse of knowledge. This place of knowing is far less judgemental and emotional but has the ability to synthesize the data from the mind and emotions, integrating and offering solutions from a much higher level of consciousness. This is something that many people find themselves seeking as they mature and look for more significance in their lives and meaning in their work.

For a long time I yearned to improve myself; my true inner self, but something was holding me back. I made a lot of excuses back then; I didn't have time; I was too tired; I wasn't sure what direction my search should take. We all face problems or hurdles as we travel along the road of life. This changed my viewpoint on how to deal with these issues. I think about what had happened and I realised that when I felt a bit depressed, I needed to think of that day and to quickly pick myself up. I was not a positive thinker always earlier and realised I needed to think in a far more positive way. This is not easy however but is something that I try hard to do. My belief is that positive people have positive and happy lives. This is what I want and believe now. When we look at a certain object, a painting for example we won’t be able to appreciate what’s in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, well have a clearer vision of the whole art work.

We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don’t see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worst. Take the frog principle for example.

Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment, the temperature of boiling water. Then try Frog B: place him in a Luke warm water and turn the gas stove on. Wait till the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks, oh its a bit warm in here. People are like Frog B in general.

We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth has fallen off. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad. When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we are gonna die tomorrow.

The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our Self Improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it.

Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good.

Happy people don't just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don't have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that its just the way I am. It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers.

Self improvement may not be every bodies favourite word, but if we look at things in a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result to a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at TV or surfing internet will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you’ll realize that you’re beginning to take things light and become happy.

In just a few words, I’ll explain the power that lies within the use of creativity and imagination. Keep in mind that nothing “under the sun” is new. Everything in existence has always existed, and facts and substances are continually changing and shifting. All that is necessary to exercise creativity is to borrow from what already exists and rearrange the material into new combinations. This process is called Imagination. Now imagination in it’s nature is both interpretative and creative. This means that it can receive impressions and ideas, and it can also use these impressions and ideas to form new combinations of the same. So, any person of average intelligence can take information from endless sources and transform this information into endless new combinations. Having infinite new combinations or ideas is, without debate, one of the most valuable tools a person can possess in their business. A remarkable example of how this concept has been applied, can be found by examining the efforts of Thomas Edison. The invention of the incandescent electric light bulb was nothing more than a combination of two old, well-known principles. He then simply arranged the two principles into a new combination. So you can see, both the simplicity and the power in the concept of creativity and imagination. Therefore, in each of your business transactions, it is very important for you to apply this powerful concept by prompting your imagination to make new connections between multiple principles and apply them to things that are unique to your situation.
